Today we’re going to dive into the sport and race directing of mountain biking with the legend Todd Sadow of Epic Rides. Todd has been putting on races for 19 years with some of the most high quality events in the country. 24 hours in the Pueblo is like a Woodstock in the desert, the Whiskey 50 is a torture fest followed by an amazingly supporting party town afterwards, and the Tour of the White Mountains will introduce you to some of the most amazing and barely ridden singletrack in Arizona while putting a royal hurting on you. Two new events are the Grand Junction Off Road, and the Carson City Off Road event. Listen in to learn more about his amazing events and the sport of mountain biking.

Today on the show we have someone who I believe is the most well rounded athlete, business person, charity driven, and motivational person on the planet and her name is Robyn Benincasa out of Southern California. I first met Robyn about 10 years ago when I was racing with her brother Jack London in a ton of adventure races. Robyn is the crazy sister that we idolized as she was always a long ways ahead of us in any event that we were in together. She became a world champion adventure racer on team Nike, Merrel, and Earthlink, and has taken top finishes in the Eco Challenge, Primal Quest, and other top adventure races across the globe. In addition she holds world records for endurance paddling via stand up paddle board and kayaking, is a 10x Ironman finisher, twice on the podium, Judo National Champion, award winning motivational speaker, firefighter, and founder of Project Athena.

Welcome to another episode on the Orange Mud Endurance Channel! Paul Jesse, Sales Manager at Orange Mud, and myself, Josh Sprague, Founder and CEO of Orange Mud, will be here your host today. We’re super excited to have founders, Ken Chlouber and Merilee Maupin of the Leadville Race Series.

For those that don’t know, the Leadville Race Series consists of a 100 mile endurance run, 100 mile endurance ride, 10k trail run, heavy half marathon, trail marathon, 50 mile trail run, and a 50 mile bike. The Leadville Trail 100 Run is what started it all, and is an ultramarathon held annually that traverses the trails and dirt roads near Leadville, Colorado. Founded in 1983, runners this ultra climb and descend almost 16k feet in elevations ranging from 9,200 to 12,620 feet. Generally the completion rate is less than 50% within the 30 hour time limit. Needless to say, it’s a tough event.
